🕊️ [DAY 6] Jeremiah 29:11

July 18, 2026

Morning! ☕️ 🕊️

The carrying is done.

For five mornings you held this promise until it became yours. Today, no blanks and no pressure. We open the whole letter and read the room it was written in.

Week three, finished. Your third verse is planted.

🕊️ YOU CARRY IT NOW

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. ✅

📖 THE WHOLE PASSAGE

For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and shall find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:10-13)

Look at the order. The future was settled FIRST, and then the invitation follows: call, pray, seek, find.

The promise is not the reward at the end of the seeking. It is the ground the seeking stands on.

🔑 WHAT'S UNDERNEATH

Now you have all the pieces. Watch them click.

A prophet in Jerusalem dictates a letter, most likely to his faithful scribe Baruch, who wrote so much of Jeremiah down.

Two named couriers carry it hundreds of miles to families far from home.

In a crowded room someone breaks the seal, and homesick people hear God disclose his own thoughts: shalom, wholeness, aimed at them by name, signed with the covenant name, promising a rope stretched to a settled far side.

An old scribe dictating to a younger scribe by lamplight

And the far side came. The exiles walked home, the walls rose again, and the family line God carried through Babylon ran straight on to a manger in Bethlehem.

The expected end of the letter was Christ himself.

A runner at peace with God's order handed back a gold medal and won a better one. A tinker in a cell wrote the world's map of hope. A mother prayed seventeen years and hugged her answer.

A turned-away orphan asked the Creator questions in a greenhouse and fed a nation.

One letter. Still delivering.

And this week, it was planted in you.

🌿 CARRY IT TODAY

• When you feel off everyone's radar: God's thoughts have your address on them, in writing.

• When the season runs long: seventy years did not break the promise, and your stretch of road will not either.

• When you cannot see the far side: the rope is tied off at both ends, and ropes work in the dark.

🌱 YOUR GARDEN

Three young plants in a row in a garden bed

Three verses planted. A gift, a shepherd, and a letter. Try all three with your eyes closed. They are there.

Next week, seed four: Romans 8:28. It comes with the best behind-the-scenes detail in the whole New Testament, and a Greek word you already use in English.
