A few words have gone quiet today, the ones doing the most work in the line. Read what is there, then say the missing pieces out loud before you check the key.
Then come get today's gift: the most beautiful word in the letter.
🕊️ FADING VERSE

🔤 THE WORD
"Thoughts of peace." The Hebrew word under "peace" is one you have heard:
Shalom.
And it is so much bigger than our word "peace."
English "peace" mostly means an absence: no noise, no conflict, no interruptions. Shalom is a presence. Wholeness. Completeness.
Everything in its right place, nothing missing, nothing broken. A garden where every tree is tended is shalom. A family around a full table is shalom.
It is such a good word that it never retired. Millions of people in Israel still say it every single day, coming and going: shalom, shalom.
Now put it back in your verse. "Thoughts of shalom toward you."
God is not merely thinking calm thoughts in your direction. He is thinking about your wholeness. The version of your life where the missing pieces are found and the broken ones mended.
That is the project on his mind, this morning, with your name on the folder.
Every "shalom" said in greeting today, anywhere on earth, is an echo of the word he chose for you.
🔍 TODAY'S PHRASE
"...toward you..."
Thoughts have a direction in this verse. They are not circling the universe in general. They are aimed.
Like a letter with an address on it, the shalom is headed somewhere specific: toward you. Not past you to someone more impressive. Not over your head to humanity at large.
You are not eavesdropping on this verse. You are the addressee.
🕯️ WITNESS
Paris, 1924. Eric Liddell was Britain's fastest man and the favorite for Olympic gold in the 100 meters. Then the schedule came out: the qualifying heat fell on a Sunday.
Liddell would not run on the Lord's day. Not for gold, not for his country, not for the papers calling him a traitor.
He quietly entered the 400 meters instead, a race nobody trained him for and nobody picked him to win.
He won it. Gold, with a world record, head thrown back, arms wide.
His famous line explains the whole man: "God made me fast. And when I run, I feel His pleasure."
That is shalom with shoes on: a man so settled about what belongs where that he could hand back the sure thing and run free. Everything in its right place, and the joy came pouring out of exactly that.
