Week 3 · Day 1. Jeremiah 29:11.
New week, new verse, and this one has something neither of your first two had: a delivery route.
Read it slowly, two or three times. Then let me tell you how it first arrived, because this famous promise came in an envelope.
🕊️ FADING VERSE
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

📜 THE SCENE
This verse was not preached from a pulpit or sung in a temple. It was mailed.
Jeremiah wrote it in Jerusalem, as part of an actual letter, and handed it to two royal couriers. Scripture even records their names: Elasah and Gemariah.
They carried it hundreds of miles east, across rivers and desert roads, to God's people living far from home in Babylon.
Now picture the far end of the route. A crowded room in a foreign city. Homesick families gathered close. Someone breaks the seal and reads out loud, and partway down the page, this:
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you.
God, in writing. To people who wondered if he still knew their address.
Here is what I love: a spoken word reaches whoever is standing there. A letter goes looking for you. It survives the road, waits in the satchel, and arrives with your name on the outside.
Three thousand years later it is still traveling, and this morning the route ended at your inbox.

The letter opens with a disclosure.
God did not have to show his hand. He could have kept his intentions to himself and let his people guess. Instead he opens his own thoughts and puts them on paper: here is what I am thinking, about you, right now.
You spend a lot of your life wondering what people really think of you. This is the one place you never have to wonder. He mailed it.
